Specialist RFID Consulting & Technical Selection

Find the right RFID tag
for your application

The problem isn't just buying an RFID tag: it's choosing the right one.

Choosing the wrong tag can compromise an entire project. RFID Advisor is a platform designed to help you identify the most suitable tag based on materials, environment and your application's specific requirements.

Material

Metal, liquids and other materials significantly influence tag behavior.

Environment

Temperature, humidity, chemicals and extreme conditions can reduce performance.

Read range

Real-world range often differs from the manufacturer's datasheet specification.

Mounting method

Adhesive, screw, embedded: mounting affects mechanical stability and long-term performance.

Why a catalog is not enough

Not all RFID tags
are created equal

Two tags may look very similar on paper yet perform completely differently in real use. The presence of metal, liquids, high temperatures, industrial washing, exposure to atmospheric agents or particular mounting methods can drastically affect the final result. That's why tag selection is one of the most critical phases of any RFID project.

Experience matters

Beyond the datasheet

Manufacturer datasheets are an excellent starting point, but they often don't describe how a tag behaves in real conditions. RFID Advisor integrates knowledge built on over twenty years of experience in the RFID industry.

Over time the system will be enriched with practical evaluations, real-world tests and experience-based guidance. The goal is to turn this experience into a concrete tool to support product selection.

Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about RFID technology & selection

Technical and practical answers to common questions about on-metal tags, UHF frequencies, read testing, and supply.

01. What are On-Metal RFID tags and why are they essential on metal surfaces?
Standard RFID tags lose almost all signal when mounted directly on metal due to electromagnetic wave reflection. On-Metal RFID tags incorporate a specially engineered dielectric spacer that isolates the antenna from the metal surface, ensuring optimal read range on containers, industrial machinery, pipelines, and metal frames.
02. What is the difference between UHF (RAIN), HF, and NFC frequencies?
UHF tags (860-960 MHz, EPC Gen2 standard) provide long-range reading (up to 10-15 meters) and simultaneous bulk reading of hundreds of tags per second, ideal for logistics and industrial asset tracking. HF (13.56 MHz) and NFC tags operate at short range (a few centimeters) and are ideal for access control, anti-counterfeiting, and direct smartphone interaction.
03. How can I identify the right tag for my specific operating environment?
Tag selection depends on 4 key factors: target mounting surface (metal, plastic, liquids), required read range, environmental stressors (extreme heat up to 250°C, harsh chemicals, IP68/IP69K industrial washdowns), and attachment method (3M industrial adhesive, rivets, screws, or cable ties). Use our Guided Wizard or AI Chat to find the best match.
04. Can we request samples to perform read tests in our facility?
Yes! In RFID engineering, we always recommend validating real-world performance before mass roll-out. Contact us via our consultation form or email to request custom sample packs and test kits tailored to your readers and facility conditions.
05. How are the laboratory tests on RFID Advisor conducted?
Our independent laboratory performs rigorous measurements evaluating real-world read range on standard steel plates and in free air, comparing handheld mobile terminals (1W ERP) against high-power fixed readers (2W ERP). Each test report includes demonstration videos, chip sensitivity curves, and practical installation notes.
06. How can I purchase tags or request a bulk industrial quotation?
Standard models can be ordered directly through our online store with tiered pricing and tracked express shipping. For high volumes, custom printing (laser marking, barcodes/QR codes), or custom EPC memory encoding, request a tailor-made quote with a reply within 24 business hours.
